Welcome

Hi all! I am so glad you are here. I am Jamie Wells, a Shreveport native, who loves my husband, son, and two dogs. In addition, I love traveling, photography, and impacting others. I grew up loving education and all of the challenging aspects of it. I decided at a young age that education was the path for me. I ventured into this path at Centenary College of Louisiana, at which I received my B.A. in Elementary Education. I taught for three years and realized that our students needed something more... It was in that third year that I began my graduate school journey at Louisiana Tech University. I received my M.A. in Counseling and Guidance, with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, in August of 2018.

Hope:

"Why is hope the header of this portfolio site?"

Well, I have worked with hundreds of students and several adults and the one thing I have found they all need is HOPE. People do not have control over how their journey began, sometimes, but with a little hope and a trusting influence, they can lead their journey into a successful adventure.

Credentials

M.A.

With a 4.0 GPA throughout graduate school, I led my own journey with success. I strived to obtain every tool I was able in order to leave a lasting impact on others. In addition to working full-time as a teacher and being a full-time graduate student, I also served as Secretary in the school's chapter of Chi Sigma Iota.

N.C.C.

In spring of 2018, I completed the National Counseling Exam in order to be certified as a National Certified Counselor. From the NBCC website these counselors are, "board certified counselors who offer the highest standards of practice because they have met stringent education, examination, supervision, experience, and ethical requirements."

L.P.C Louisiana & Texas

I have completed approximately 2,000 direct client contact hours, 1,000 indirect hours, and 100 supervision hours with my supervisor.

I have been granted a Licensed Professional Counselor license for both states of Texas and Louisiana.
